Vanderbilt football bowl projections after Week 13
Vanderbilt football has lost two in a row, but it’s still headed to a bowl game.
The Commodores (6-5, 3-4 SEC) conclude their season Saturday (11 a.m. CT, ABC) against Tennessee. After that, they will find out their bowl destination for the first time since 2018.
A spate of upsets over the weekend have significantly shaken up the bowl projections. Oklahoma, Florida and Arkansas are all now bowl-eligible, and Auburn could also join the group with a win in the Iron Bowl. It’s also become increasingly likely that just three SEC teams will make the College Football Playoff, making more bowl-eligible SEC teams than there are SEC bowls.
That could land Vanderbilt in one of the SEC bowls, like the Birmingham or Gasparilla Bowl, or the Commodores could fill a spot in another bowl that would typically go to a different conference. That’s led Vanderbilt to be projected in bowls all across the country.
