Nosferatu Can Help Willem Dafoe Reach A New Box Office Milestone After 100+ Movies
One of the final major releases coming out in 2024 is Nosferatu, a remake of the 1922 film of the same name, which itself was based on Bram Stoker’s original Dracula book. The film is being directed by Robert Eggers, with Lily-Rose Depp, Bill Skarsgård, and Nicholas Hoult headlining Nosferatu‘s stellar cast. Willem Dafoe is only playing a supporting character in the film, but if the movie manages to be as successful as its pre-release interest is hinting at, he may make it out with another box office milestone under his belt.
Willem Dafoe has been acting since the 1980s, earning a reputation as an extremely versatile actor, able to take on roles that run the gamut from campy supervillains to insane lighthouse keepers, with Dafoe even having been in a previous Nosferatu movie. He tends to take on a supporting role as opposed to being the central protagonist, but his talent has spoken for itself, giving him the recognition he deserves. His diverse roles have grown his total box office earnings to massive numbers, and he is set to soon pass another big milestone when Nosferatu releases this Christmas.
Willem Dafoe Is Only $74 Million Away From Having $13 Billion In Total Box Office
Dafoe Has Been In Plenty Of Successful Films Over His Career
Willem Dafoe’s biggest strength when it comes to the box office is the fact that his career has been long and illustrious, giving him many opportunities to star in films that do pretty well alongside films that have become the biggest of their years. His largest film by far was 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, the highest-grossing Spider-Man film with its whopping $1.9 billion box office, that built off the success of the other MCU Spider-Man movies as well as another of Willem Dafoe’s biggest hits, Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man.

While the actor is likely best-known by modern audiences for his role as the Green Goblin, Willem Dafoe has been in so many excellent movies, and his box office success has come from plenty of sources outside the iconic Marvel villain. The Finding Nemo movies, Aquaman, and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice are just a few of his bigger films, but both the mid-level hits and the massive blowout successes have contributed to his box office earnings so far, and his upcoming slate of films will more than likely be able to push him past this next $13 billion milestone.
Nosferatu Should Be A Big Enough Box Office Hit To Give Willem Dafoe This New Milestone
The Film Will Probably Make The $74 Million He Needs
Multiple horror films have done quite well in 2024, and Nosferatu seems set to continue that trend for the year. Robert Eggers has only directed three feature films up to this point, and only one of them, The Witch, which made $40 million on a $4 million budget, has been a huge success, with even his previous collaboration with Dafoe, The Lighthouse, not being too financially successful. However, Nosferatu has already received glowing reviews, and with the excitement generated by the first trailers and the interest in the source material, Nosferatu has every opportunity to perform very well.
