Japan Airlines Launches Free Domestic Flights for International Tourists

Japan Airlines (JAL) has unveiled an exciting initiative to make domestic travel within Japan more accessible to international tourists. The airline offers free domestic flights to travelers from the United States, Canada, Mexico, Thailand, Australia, and New Zealand. Additionally, tourists from Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, India, China, and Taiwan are also eligible for this special offer.

To take advantage of the free domestic flights, passengers must book their round-trip international flights with Japan Airlines and include domestic flights within Japan in the same reservation. This initiative promotes travel to lesser-known cities and towns across Japan, encouraging visitors to explore beyond the country’s major urban centers like Tokyo and Osaka.

However, travelers from the United States, Canada, Mexico, and China should note that they will incur a $100 layover fee if they plan to stay in their initial destination for more than 24 hours.

A spokesperson for Japan Airlines told Business Insider that “no end date has been set” for the initiative, signaling the airline’s commitment to boosting tourism and showcasing the diverse attractions Japan has to offer.

With this program, JAL hopes to enhance the travel experience for international visitors and support the revitalization of local economies by making remote regions more accessible. As travelers plan their trips, they can look forward to exploring Japan’s rich cultural heritage, stunning natural landscapes, and vibrant local communities.
