Google has appointed Preeti Lobana as the new Country Manager and Vice President for India. Lobana takes over from Sanjay Gupta, who has been promoted to President of the Asia Pacific region at Google. This move is part of Google’s strategy to further enhance its presence in India’s rapidly growing digital economy and leverage the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across the region.
As Country Manager and Vice President, Preeti Lobana would be responsible for shaping Google’s strategy in India, with a strong emphasis on leveraging the transformative power of Artificial Intelligence (AI). According to a company release, Lobana’s role will focus on driving innovation and enhancing Google’s engagement with India’s rapidly expanding digital economy, aiming to create new opportunities for businesses and consumers alike.
Lobana, a veteran of Google with over eight years of experience, most recently served as Vice President of Customer-Centric Solutions. In her new role, she will oversee Google’s sales and operations in India, focusing on utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to provide impactful solutions for customers and drive the company’s digital transformation efforts across the country.

Lobana brings over 30 years of experience in senior leadership roles across the technology and financial sectors, giving her deep insights into India’s rapidly evolving business environment. Prior to her tenure at Google, Lobana held leadership positions at leading institutions like NatWest Group, American Express, Standard Chartered Bank, and ANZ Grindlays Bank, specializing in business strategy, product management, and operational excellence.
