Scheme helps Cypriot businesses participate in international events

The Cabinet has approved a new De Minimis Grant Scheme to support Cypriot businesses in participating in international trade fairs, following a proposal by Energy Minister George Papanastasiou.

The scheme, announced on December 18, 2024, aims to boost exports and expand Cyprus’ presence in global markets.

According to a statement by the Ministry, the initiative, with a €1.5 million budget for 2025, seeks to enhance the international reach of Cypriot enterprises, facilitating the export of industrial and agricultural products.

Eligible participants include businesses involved in the processing and marketing of such products, as well as Producer Groups and Organisations recognised by the competent authority.

The scheme will support participation in major international trade fairs where the Ministry hosts state pavilions, including Index & The Hotel Show and Gulfood in Dubai, Prowein in Düsseldorf, Anuga in Cologne, and Fruit Logistica in Berlin.

Applications for the grant will be accepted from December 19, 2024, to January 8, 2025.

Submissions must be made by hand, registered mail, or private courier to the Trade Service, Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry, at 6 Andreas Araouzou, 1421 Nicosia.
