Vetrimaaran’s film gets called “engaging”, audience enjoy Vijay Sethupathi portions

Viduthalai: Part 2, the sequel to Vetrimaaran and Soori’s 2023 film is finally hitting theatres on Friday (December 20). Also starring Vijay Sethupathi, Manju Warrier, and others, the film has music by Ilaiyaraaja. While the film is releasing on Friday, a few people watched Viduthalai: Part 2 in a special show, and posted their reviews online.

A section of people had watched Viduthalai: Part 2 before, posted their reviews online. The Vetrimaaran film, which is hitting theatres on December 20, is a period action drama starring Soori, Vijay Sethupathi, Manju Warrier and others.

For those who are unversed with the film’s story, Viduthalai is about a rookie cop who joins the force and is tasked with the capture of people’s movement leader, Vaathiyar. However, he soon stands on the crossroads, after he comes to empathise on the people’s side who are on the receiving end of police brutality and societal oppression. The sequel will engage in the backstory of Vaathiyar played by Vijay Sethupathi.

Some of them watched Viduthalai overseas and through special arrangement posted their reviews online. While one user calls it an “intense drama”, another person who watched the film overseas call it “engaging”. Here are what people think of Viduthalai: Part 2.

Vetrimaaran trims Viduthalai: Part 2 hours before release

On the eve of Viduthalai: Part 2 release, Vetrimaaran called it an “exhausting and extensive piece of work” and revealed that about eight minutes of the film has been trimmed. The original run time was two hours and 52 minutes.

Viduthalai: Part 1 is available for streaming on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium for free. The streaming rights of the second part have also been bagged by ZEE5. Viduthalai duology is backed by Elred Kumar’s RS Infotainment, and has background score by Ilaiyaraaja.

Kishore, Ken Karunas, Bhavani Sre, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Rajiv Menon, Anurag Kashyap, Ken Karunas, Ilavarasu, Balaji Sakthivel, and others are also part of the film.
