2025 Kawasaki Z900 patented in India: What to expect? – Bike News
The current Kawasaki Z900 is priced at Rs 9.38 lakh. With the updates on offer, the 2025 Z900 is expected to be priced between Rs 9.50 and Rs 10 lakh (all ex-showroom).
Kawasaki is gearing up to launch the heavily updated Z900 in India. The latest iteration of Z900 broke cover in November 2024 and is likely to head towards Indian shores soon. Ahead of its launch, the Japanese superbike brand has filed a patent for the new Z900 in the country, hinting at a possible launch.
While filing a patent application doesn’t guarantee a market launch, it surely reveals that Kawasaki is thinking of launching the bike in India. Moreover, Kawasaki has been offering the existing Z900 with discounts worth up to Rs 40,000. This discount is applicable on the ex-showroom price of the bike, valid till 31 March 2025.

2025 Kawasaki Z900: What’s new?
In the latest avatar, the Z900 gets cosmetic as well as feature upgrades over the outgoing model. Starting with the design, while Kawasaki carries forward the super aggressive styling from the current model, the Japanese brand has made several small tweaks to give it a refreshed look. For instance, up front the 2025 Z900 gets a new face courtesy of the redesigned triple-pod LED headlamp cluster, giving it a more menacing look.
Accents of metallic carbon gray on the side fairing gives the bike a nice contrasting appeal. The rear gets a revised taillight cluster. Other visual details such as a muscular fuel tank, a floating tail section, an upswept double-barrel exhaust muffler, and metallic engine underbelly bash plate have been carried over from the existing model.
In terms of features, the 2025 Z900 boasts a new 5-inch coloured TFT instrument display with lean angle indicator. The new instrument cluster is compatible with Bluetooth connectivity and Kawasaki’s updated Rideology application that offer voice commands and turn-by-turn navigation. The already comprehensive electronics suite now benefits from cruise control.
Globally, the 2025 Kawasaki Z900 is available in two trims: standard and Performance. The latter comes with additional accessories such as a single seat cover in metallic spark black shade, a large smoke meter cover, a dashboard screen protector, an Akropovic carbon sports exhaust with a heat shield, and a tank pad.
2025 Kawasaki Z900: Hardware & Powertrain specs
Mechanically, the 2025 Z900 is almost identical to its predecessor. It is based on the same high-tensile steel frame that sits on 41mm upside-down front forks and a gas-charged monoshock at the rear, both sourced from Ohlins offering complete with rebound, damping and spring preload adjustability for the Performance trim. The standard trim gets the same setup minus the adjustability.

Braking duties are carried out by 300mm dual disc brakes at the front and 250mm single-disc at the rear, with Nissin callipers for the standard trim and Brembo M4.32 monobloc callipers for the Performance trim. Moreover, the 2025 Kawasaki Z900 is 1 kg heavier than the outgoing model tipping the scales at 213 kg (kerb).
The 2025 Kawasaki Z900 continues to draw power from the same 948 cc inline-4 cylinder engine which the company claims is 16 percent more fuel efficient than before, courtesy revised camshaft profiles. That said, stricter Euro 5+ emissions norms means output has dropped marginally. This unit now produces 123 bhp and 97.4 Nm of peak torque as opposed to 125 bhp and 98.6 Nm.

The motor is paired with a six-speed gearbox and comes with a bi-directional quickshifter as standard for smoother gear shifts. There are four ride modes to choose from namely Sport, Road, Rain, and a customisable Rider mode.
