South Carolina lands Donovan Murph for 2025 over Clemson, Tennessee
COLUMBIA — Four star wide receiver Donovan Murph has committed to South Carolina football for coach Shane Beamer’s 2025 class.
Murph, who played for Irmo High School, announced the news shortly before the 2024 Under Armour All-America game in Florida on Thursday afternoon. Surrounded by family, he put on a Gamecocks hat to reveal the news.
Murph chose the Gamecocks over Clemson, Ole Miss, Colorado and Tennessee. He joins Malik Clark, Jordon Gidron, Jayden Sellers, Brian Rowe and Lex Cyrus for South Carolina wide receivers from the class of 2025.
Murph was at the Palmetto Bowl on Nov. 30 between South Carolina and Clemson, when South Carolina won 17-14. He also was at the Clemson game a week before against the Citadel.
The 6-foot-1, 188 pound WR is the No. 6 recruit from South Carolina in the class of 2025 according to the 247Sports. For Irmo, he had 2,412 receiving yards and 29 touchdowns in two seasons, according to MaxPreps.
