India’s richest railway station: The Railway stations of the Indian Railways earn crores of rupees every year through various revenue sources like shops or advertisements, but do you know which is the richest railway station of India. Highest earning railway station

New Delhi Railway Station emerged as the highest earner in the 2023-24 fiscal year, raking in an impressive Rs 3,337 crore according to Railway data. Besides leading in revenue, it also ranks among the most hectic stations, having welcomed 39,362,272 passengers over the year.

Second on the list, Howrah Railway Station is the second most earning station of India. The annual income of the West Bengal located station is Rs 1692 crore. Also, the Howrah Railway Station is the busiest railway station.

PM Modi inaugurates, lays foundation stones for key railway projects across India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of multiple railway projects through video conferencing, further strengthening India’s railway infrastructure.

Union Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Manjhi, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu also attended the virtual event.

Among the key projects, PM Modi inaugurated the new Jammu Railway Division, marking a significant step towards enhanced connectivity in the region. He also inaugurated the Charlapalli New Terminal Station in Telangana and laid the foundation stone of the Rayagada Railway Division Building of the East Coast Railway.

Addressing the event, the Prime Minister highlighted the strides India is making in connectivity, referring to his recent experience with the Namo Bharat train in Delhi-NCR and the expansion of Delhi Metro projects.

“This is a significant achievement. The metro network in India has now crossed over 1,000 kilometres,” he said.
