“Scream 7” Filming Month Revealed; Hints Dropped On Upcoming Ghostface

In previous articles, we’ve discussed how integral the Scream franchise is to the horror genre as a whole. Though, admittedly, it’s become a shadow of its former self, news of the Wayans brother returning to the scene and stating that “Scream 7” will be a return to form is a relief for many fans of this storied franchise. Pair this up with the return of the original cast members, and “Scream” enjoyers are in for a treat. And when you think that’s it, casting director Rich Delia drops a few hints on how he and director Kevin Williamson have cast this version of Ghostface.

During a recent interview with The Direct for the home release of “Never Let Go,” Delia was asked for some insight on the upcoming horror film. There, he revealed that Williamson wanted the main antagonist to carry a different story to the overall narrative compared to its predecessors. Additionally, he also confirmed that filming will kick off this January. In the interview, he was quoted as saying:

“I was lucky enough to work on the last two Scream films, so I’ve had a little experience with casting a few actors as Ghostface. And it’s always different, depending on the story and the tone. You know, I love Mikey Madison so much. She was obviously popping so big this year in Anora, and she’s amazing. And she was someone who had really popped into my mind when we were doing, you know, one of the previous iterations of Scream … And then Jack Quaid is such a likable, personable guy that you knew that it was kind of a twist that you wouldn’t necessarily see coming.

So, depending on where they fit into the story, or looking at how I can either mess with audience expectations, present a red herring, you know, pick someone that you would never expect. Ghostface kind of fits into each iteration of Scream differently, and so you’re just looking for however the casting can elevate or subvert the audience’s expectations of who that might be.”

Naturally, being a whodunit film, they aren’t revealing who they have cast for the role just yet. However, with the names he has listed off, we might have a good idea of who it might be. Because of this, you should keep your eyes peeled for the next batch of confirmed actors in “Scream 7,” as the person behind the mask might be among them.

Matt Reeves Drops Massive Hints On “The Batman – Part II” At The Golden Globes

To say DC movies has hit a rough patch when it comes to recent productions would be a generous comment, to say the least. So the company has done a massive overhaul of its entire library in hopes of starting fresh. However, there are some stragglers that managed to survive this wave of reboot, and that is 2022’s “The Batman,” featuring Robert Pattinson. It was such a surprising success for both critics and fans alike that it earned a spin-off series in the form of “The Penguin,” which is now also critically acclaimed.

To further cement the show’s success, Matt Reeves, the director and executive producer of the film and miniseries, respectively, was spotted at the Golden Globes. There, Deadline  interviewed and placed him on the spot where he teased the fans on what’s coming next for the Dark Knight and his rogues’ gallery, but not before praising Colin Farrell (who played Oswald “Oz” Cobb / The Penguin), saying that “he’s a genius.”

Afterwards, he shared that part two will begin shooting sometime later in the year. Throughout the process, the veteran director is noticeably excited about the film, vocally stating that he cannot share more to prevent spoilers. He did let slip that it will be a continuation of the story, perhaps suggesting that it won’t be like Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight” and “The Dark Knight Rises,” where there is an eight-year-long gap between the two films in terms of story.

Despite the continuation of the narrative, Reeves was quoted as saying, “I hope that people are going to be really surprised by this.” Though it may seem subtle on its face, his statement implies that there might be a twist in the film that might seem obvious, but will most likely still catch viewers off guard.
