Despite her initial lack of interest in his film career, her family, who had been opposed to his entry into the industry, eventually began supporting him by hoping for the success of his films. Gauri, however, admitted that she never focused on his success and had little involvement in his career during his early days.
Gauri shared that it took her about nine years to truly understand what SRK was doing in the film industry and how his movies were performing. She credited her close friends, who were more connected to films, for helping her become aware.Over time, she realised how much films meant to Shah Rukh. She also mentioned that he was never content with just acting and always wanted to be technically involved in movies, which he has successfully done over the years.
The star wife also admitted that she didn’t pray for Shah Rukh Khan’s success and even hoped his films would flop, as she felt uncomfortable in Mumbai in the early years of their marriage. Shah Rukh had promised her they would move back to Delhi if she couldn’t adjust. Gauri revealed that she didn’t watch most of his films and had no interest in his career during that time.
Gauri shared that as Shah Rukh Khan’s popularity grew, she began receiving film offers as well. However, she felt acting wasn’t for her and chose to stay true to herself by rejecting those offers. She also mentioned that Shah Rukh, being protective, would never allow her to act in films.
