Tidemark Theatre announces line up for 2025 Campbell River Film Festival

The Tidemark Theatre’s Campbell River Film Festival will showcase at least five movies between January and March. According to the theatre’s press release, the selection is diverse and promises to entertain, inspire, and captivate.

“From a heartwarming French-Canadian comedy to a riveting documentary about an iconic combat camerawoman, CRFF 2025 has something for every film lover,” reads the release.

The first film is Tous Toques (Jan. 28).

Tous Toques on strict customs officer Sonia in a quiet village near the Quebec – United States border. Sonia partners with Victor (a chef) when her daughter enters a high-stakes cooking competition.

The Local’s Showcase will take place on Feb. 11. The showcase celebrates local talent. The documentary A Wilder Way is the only project announced for the showcase so far. The Tidemark will announce more films soon.

Never Look Away, from Lucy Lawless of Xena fame, is set to show on Feb. 25. The documentary is the actress’s directorial debut about Margaret Moth. Moth was a New Zealand-born photojournalist for CNN and covered the Persian Gulf War, the Bosnian War and other global conflicts.

 Suberboys of Malegaon, an Indian film based on a true story, will be shown on March 11. The heartwarming story is about Nasir Shaikh, a self-made filmmaker who turned his small Indian town into a hub for no-budget filmmaking. The film is directed by Reema Kagti.

March 25’s movie features Spanish director Pedro Almodovar’s first English-language feature. The Room Next Door is an adaption of Sigrid Nunez’s novel, What Are You Going Through.
