BAFTA award-winning film dubbed ‘gorgeous and well-acted’ to air free on TV
The award-winning film that was released in the noughties is set to air on television this weekend – here’s when and where you can watch it entirely for free

Award-winning historical romantic drama film, Pride & Prejudice, is all set to air on television this weekend.
The critically-acclaimed movie will air tonight (January 11) at 6:35pm on BBC Two, meaning your Saturday evening plans have officially been sorted.
For those who are unable to catch the film when it airs, it will also be available to watch on BBC iPlayer at a later date.
Pride & Prejudice is based on Jane Austen’s 1813 novel of the same name, with the Joe Wright directorial releasing back in 2005. It follows the journeys of five sisters from an English family of landed gentry as they attempt to deal with issues such as marriage, morality and misconceptions.
Keira Knightley plays Elizabeth Bennet while actor Matthew Macfayden portrays Mr Darcy, who falls in love with her.

The film also features an incredible set of supporting actors including Brenda Blethyn, Donald Sutherland, Rosamund Pike, Judi Dench and Carey Mulligan.
The romantic drama became a big box office success as it made $121.6 million from a budget of $28 million. It was also widely appreciated by critics and fans alike, with many pointing out Keira’s performance as being a highlight.
It received many accolades including four nominations at the 78th Academy Awards, including Best Actress for Keira, who was 20 at the time, making her the third-youngest Best Actress nominee at the time.
The film also bagged the BAFTA Award for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer for debutant director Joe Wright. He has since gone on to host some incredible films, including Atonement, Hanna and The Woman in the Window.

Fans have showered praise on Pride & Prejudice for the last 20 years, with it having a 7.8 rating on IMDb and an 87% Tomatometer rating on Rotten Tomatoes and an 89% Popcornmeter.
One fan has expressed online: “Pride and Prejudice is a gorgeous and well-acted adaptation.” Another penned: “Luminous visuals, subtle thematic statements, and fine acting. A lovely period piece that surely will stand the test of time.”
While a third adds: “It gets a pleasantly fresh, youthful and modern treatment, while staying true to the author’s work.”
