Fund-raiser launched to keep The Music Room, in Ipswich, operating
A popular music venue in Ipswich needs your help to secure its future.
The new managers of The Music Room, in Wykes Bishop Street, set up a GoFundMe in a bid to save it from closure.
The 400-capacity venue recently came under the management of Charlie Ross, Darren Smith and Aaron Buckland.

The trio set up the fund-raiser to give the community an easy way to support the venue.
However, they also have a series of events planned to bring money in, starting with an alternative DJ night on January 18 and a rock-karaoke event on January 25.
Mr Smith said: “The diary for 2025 is looking very healthy with a nice mix of touring original bands from all around the world and well known tribute acts like Chop Suey!, Slip-Not, Wrong Jovi, Guns 2 Roses, Oaysis & The Total Stone Roses.

“We are determined to see this through but need help financially to continue operating.
“It would be a huge loss to the town if we lost the venue that has created so many memories for us all.”

The Music Room reopened on December 7 after shutting suddenly on October 23, with the new managers announcing their takeover 48 hours later.
