Saudi Arabia Announces New Benefits for Importers and Exporters as It Looks to Boost Trade – Gulf Insider
Saudi Arabia has unveiled a raft of benefits for import and export businesses as it looks to boost trade in the Kingdom.
The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has outlined its collaboration with 14 government entities to strengthen the Saudi Authorised Economic Operator Program, introducing new benefits and incentives for member importers and exporters while promoting greater cooperation between government agencies and the commercial sector.
The initiative also aims to bolster the security of the global supply chain and provide numerous advantages to participating enterprises.
Saudi import and export benefits
ZATCA, along with its partners from government agencies involved in the Saudi Authorised Economic Operator Program, provides a range of administrative, procedural, and financial benefits across three categories.
These benefits are designed for importers and exporters, with an additional fourth category specifically for logistics service providers, including customs brokers and freight forwarders.
The Saudi Authorised Economic Operator Program’s new concept plays a significant role in advancing the logistics sector’s goals within the Kingdom by streamlining trade processes for importers and exporters, boosting their competitiveness through the benefits of inter-agency collaboration.
This initiative aims to maximise trade facilitation, improve supply chain efficiency, and expedite procedures, ensuring smooth and flexible trade operations.
It also enhances access to global markets according to the highest international standards and best practices.

Since its launch in 2018, the program has expanded to include more than 550 commercial establishments. The Saudi Authorised Economic Operator Program is globally recognised and approved in 80 countries.
This initiative allows countries to offer benefits to commercial establishments, aligning with the international trade security and facilitation standards set by the World Customs Organisation.
Mutual recognition agreements serve as a crucial avenue for cooperation among nations, enhancing trade and allowing countries to reap the advantages of the program.
