New year, new tunes as Mossley music venue goes global

A HOST of old favourites and some new artists will be gracing the stage as a Mossley arts venue welcomes in their 2025 season.

There will be a whole world of music on offer at The Vale – from blues to flamenco and dayglo
punk to New Orleans brass.

It all kicks off on Saturday, January 25, with the return of Mossley’s own blues legend who has
been compared to Aretha Franklin.

Kyla Brox – a regular at The Vale – and her band will perform a night of soulful blues and R&B
sounds, mixing up original songs and covers.

Next month, music lovers are invited to spend an evening with internationally renowned flamenco music and dance superstars Ramon Ruiz, Rebecca Ortega and Natalia Marin.

In an event called Fuego, Sol y Agua (fire, sun and water in Spanish), the trio will bring the sunny rhythms and vibrant melodies of Andalusia to wintry Tameside on Saturday, February 15.

Then, the following Saturday, February 22, Loose Articles will be back at The Vale.

The punk quartet specialise in discordant, hypnotic repetition, tales of boozy nights out and
radical politics.

The entertainment continues into March when Mr Wilson’s Second Liners will be supported by
Liverpool’s Dogshow.

Paying homage to the days of the Hacienda, 90s club culture and its greatest hero Tony Wilson,
the Second Liners will deliver a New Orleans brass meets 90s Manchester club classics vibe on March 22.

Support comes from canine-headed brothers Laurie and Sam Crombie on their second visit to
The Vale. The founders of Liverpool’s Kazimier club fuse live techno, jazz, dance and musicianship into their show, which comprises a battery-powered dog trolley in the centre of the
audience.

Johnny Clifford, programming manager at The Vale, said: “New year, new tunes and a very
exciting new live music programme at The Vale.

It’s totally eclectic, drawing on sounds from
around the globe.

“What unites the artists performing in the first quarter of 2025 is pure artistry and excellence in
musicianship. We can’t wait to welcome them to Mossley.”

Tickets for any of the live events start from £5 and can be booked online on The Vale website at
