Russia’s fruit and vegetable imports rise in 2024, with Turkey as key supplier

Russia’s Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision reports a notable uptick in vegetable and fruit imports in 2024. Vegetable imports surged by 9.9 percent to 1.7 million tons, and fruit imports increased by 2.4 percent, reaching 6.1 million tons. Furthermore, Russia experienced a 3.9 percent increase in imports of specific fruits like peaches, plums, and cherries, totaling 722,600 tons, with Turkey being the predominant source.
