Clydebank FC legend remembered ahead of Scottish Cup clash
We previously reported on the passing of Stevie ‘Caskie’ McAneney back in July 2023, sparking condolences and messages of sadness from across Scottish football.
He held a variety of different roles at Holm Park, from being a fan to a club director and then eventually the kit man.
The bus, which he previously ran to games, was named the Caskie Clydebank Supporters Bus shortly after his passing.

He said: “We wanted to honour Caskie’s legacy after everything he did for the club and that felt like the best route to go down.
“This upcoming match is poignant for a number of reasons, one of which being it is our biggest fixture since Stevie sadly passed away.
“I have no doubt the fans and team will honour him well in the match.”

He continued: “Local people seem really excited for the game, which is exactly what Stevie would have wanted.
“The response has been positive so far to the bus program and we expect to sell many more tickets.
“Caskie would been delighted to see such enthusiasm for the local team, particularly among young people.”
Despite the five divisions which separate the two clubs, Fred is hopeful the Holm Park team can compete.
He admits it will be a tough fixture but is looking forward to the challenge and wishes his pal could be in attendance at Easter Road.
The 63-year-old added: “At one point, when the club was in a tough financial situation, I never thought we would get to go somewhere like Easter Road again.
“It shows how far we have come and I am just gutted that Stevie isn’t here to see it.
“I have no doubt he would have absolutely loved this cup run so far and would be more excited than anyone ahead of the match in Edinburgh.”
