Many might assume that the most highly anticipated film of 2025 would be Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s War 2 or Rajinikanth’s Coolie. However, let us tell you—it’s neither of these!

With half the month of January 2025 passing by, IMDb has released the list of the 20 most anticipated Indian films of 2025. A total of 20 movies including from Bollywood, South cinemas and more. While many may think that the number one highly anticipated film of 2025 would be Hrithik Roshan’s and Jr NTR’s War 2 or Rajinikanth’s Coolie, let us tell you it is neither of these two. The highly anticipated movie featured Bollywood’s biggest star, who is loved by lakhs and lakhs. He only releases one movie in a year and was recently seen was a cameo appearance in the film Singham Again. We are talking about Salman Khan’s Sikandar.

Helmed by AR Murugadoss and featuring Salman in the lead role, Sikandar is slated to release on the occasion of Eid 2025. Apart from Khan, the movie also features Rashmika Mandanna, Prateik Babbar, Sathyaraj, Kajal Aggarwal, and Sharman Joshi in pivotal roles.

On his upcoming directorial, director AR Murugadoss said, “I’m deeply humbled to see Sikandar topping the IMDb Most Anticipated Indian Movies of 2025 list. Working with Salman Khan has been incredible. His energy and dedication bring Sikandar to life in ways words can’t express. Huge thanks to Sajid Nadiadwala for making it happen. On number second, the highly-anticipated film is Toxic featuring Yash in the lead role, whereas on the third number is Rajinikanth’s Coolie. On the fourth number, Housefull 5 featuring Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Fardeen Khan, Sonam Bajwa, Chunky Panday, and Nana Patekar. Tiger Shroff and Sanjay Dutt’s Baaghi 4 is also on the list.

The IMDb list of the most anticipated Indian films of 2025 also includes several highly awaited titles: Prabhas’ The Raja Saab, War 2 starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani, Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s L2: Empuraan, Shahid Kapoor’s Deva, Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, Vishnu Manchu’s Kannappa, Suriya’s Retro, Kamal Haasan’s Thug Life, Sunny Deol’s Jaat, Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force, Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par, Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s Thama, Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: A Legend, Alia Bhatt and Sharvari’s Alpha, and Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi’s Thandel.
