India-West Staff Reporter
SEATTLE, WA – Microsoft is pushing forward its AI initiatives, with CEO Satya Nadella announcing that Jay Parikh will join the company’s senior leadership team. Parikh, formerly the global head of engineering at Facebook (now Meta) and most recently CEO of Lacework, will lead the newly established CoreAI – Platform and Tools group.
The CoreAI group is tasked with building an end-to-end AI stack to support both Microsoft’s internal needs and its third-party customers, enabling seamless development and deployment of AI applications and agents. Reporting directly to Nadella, the group will integrate teams from Microsoft’s developer and AI platforms, as well as the Office of the CTO.
In a memo to employees, Nadella praised Parikh’s extensive experience in scaling technical teams and driving innovation at organizations like Meta and Akamai. He also highlighted Parikh’s strong ties to the startup and venture capital ecosystems and his dedication to nurturing top talent.
“Ultimately, we must remember that our internal organizational boundaries are meaningless to both our customers and our competitors,” Nadella emphasized, underscoring Microsoft’s collaborative approach to AI.
Parikh will collaborate closely with key Microsoft leaders, including Mustafa Suleyman, head of Copilot AI initiatives, and Scott Guthrie, who oversees the company’s cloud division. Nadella reinforced Microsoft’s commitment to AI as a cornerstone of its strategy, stating, “Our success in this next phase will be determined by having the best AI platform, tools, and infrastructure.”
