Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Holds Talks with USAID on Developing Regional Transport Links
On January 14, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan met with James Hope, Acting Deputy Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), in Washington to discuss ongoing projects and prospects for new collaboration.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed USAID programs currently implemented in Armenia and identified opportunities to launch new joint initiatives. Special emphasis was placed on the importance of reforms being undertaken by the Armenian government and collaborative efforts to strengthen the country’s institutional capacity.
A significant portion of the discussions focused on the unblocking of regional economic and transport connections as a critical factor for fostering economic development in the region.
In this context, Vahan Kostanyan presented Armenia’s “Crossroads of Peace” project, an initiative launched by the Armenian government, and emphasized the country’s firm commitment to the principles of opening communication routes as outlined in the project framework.
