Chain Jewelry Looks Adorn Rita Wilson, Regina King, Joan Chen and Gal Gadot at Academy Women’s Luncheon by Chanel

AT THE ACADEMY WOMEN’S Luncheon Presented by Chanel, several celebrities — Rita Wilson, Regina King, Gal Gadot and Joan Chen — were linked together by a common theme: jewelry and accessories made of chunky chains.

Wilson looked radiant and effortlessly sophisticated at the event in a striped suit, black top with a shimmy V-neck and a diamond rectangular link chain in a length that could be worn with various necklines.

And then there were the celebrities who were head-to-toe in Chanel. Chen wore a Chanel outfit and link hoops with the Chanel double C logo in the center.

Both King and Godot wore looks from Chanel — King with a triple chain worn diagonally from her shoulder across her chest and Gadot with a triple chain belt.

All wore black or black with white or neutral accents. Heavy link chains in gold have been going strong for several years now, and they seemingly haven’t slowed down even with gold prices soaring.

With the exception of Wilson’s necklace, the chains we saw at this soiree tended toward “fashion accessories” rather than fine jewelry. However, these and the Chanel necklace worn by Mila Kunis all created a unified look and suggested that there are many creative ways to wear multiple styles of curb, rectangular and other styles. Designers will likely continue to work with chains in myriad looks and all colors of gold as well as platinum with diamond or gemstone accents.
