Qualcomm and MapmyIndia Partner to Drive ‘Make in India’ Automotive Innovation

In a boost to India’s automotive technology ecosystem, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., a global leader in wireless innovation, has announced a collaboration with MapmyIndia, India’s premier digital maps and deep-tech company. The partnership aims to align with the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative by delivering connectivity solutions for both four-wheelers (4W) and two-wheelers (2W), benefiting domestic and global automakers.

This partnership harnesses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon® Digital Chassis solutions and MapmyIndia’s advanced telematics expertise to bring high-quality yet affordable technology to Indian automakers. The joint effort is set to reshape automotive connectivity by prioritising safety, convenience, and accessibility, even in mid-tier and low-tier vehicle segments.

MapmyIndia will utilise Qualcomm’s Snapdragon® Auto Connectivity Platform to create tailored telematics solutions that empower Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to offer smart connectivity features typically reserved for premium vehicles. These innovations are expected to enhance road safety and provide intuitive, user-centric experiences across all vehicle categories.

The collaboration also involves integrating Snapdragon® Car-to-Cloud Services with MapmyIndia’s MAPPLS automotive services. This will enable the creation of a software-defined vehicle framework that supports seamless management of data, maps, navigation, and connected services via a unified platform. Designed for scalability and customisation, the solution aims to enhance end-to-end services and ensure a personalized driving experience for consumers.

Rakesh Verma, CMD and Founder of MapmyIndia, said, “Our work with Qualcomm Technologies allows us to bring state-of-the-art telematics solutions to a broader audience. By democratising access to advanced technologies, we are improving road safety and enhancing convenience for Indian drivers across vehicle segments.”

Speaking on the similar lines, Savi Soin, Senior Vice President and President of Qualcomm India, emphasised the significance of this partnership and mentioned that  this collaboration combines the expertise of both companies to deliver world-class automotive solutions that accelerate innovation, reduce costs, and enhance value for automakers in India and beyond.
