Sineng Electric powers India’s largest floating solar plant
Sineng Electric has played a pivotal role in the successful commissioning of a 90MW floating solar plant at the Omkareshwar Dam reservoir in Madhya Pradesh. The plant has been in commercial operation for over five months and is part of India’s largest floating solar park, ultimately totalling 600MW. Executed by SJVN Green Energy (SGEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of SJVN, and constructed by Larsen & Toubro, the landmark project exemplifies the country’s ongoing commitment to advancing renewable energy technologies and achieving its sustainability goals.
The project deploys 28 units of Sineng’s advanced EP-3300-HB-UD central inverters. Specially designed for utility-scale applications, these inverters deliver industry-leading efficiency of up to 99%, leverage advanced three-level topology technology, and feature a maximum DC/AC ratio of 1.8. Engineered to withstand the demanding conditions of floating solar installations, the devices are equipped with IP65 rating and robust anti-corrosion protection, ensuring reliable operation in the humid and dynamic reservoir environment.
The plant is projected to generate an annual 196,500 MWh of clean energy, while eliminating 230,000 tons of carbon emissions.
“Sineng Electric is delighted to contribute to this milestone project in Madhya Pradesh,” commented John Hu, General Manager of the company’s international department. “Our advanced inverters are built to address the unique complexities of floating solar installations, including fluctuating water levels, high winds, waves and corrosive environments. This successful collaboration also showcases Sineng’s unparalleled expertise and commitment to delivering reliable and efficient energy solutions that drive the clean energy revolution.”
