Kolkata: To encourage creativity among students, St Sebastian’s School organised ‘Acrayon 2024′, the annual art and science exhibition within their school premises recently. Stalls were put up exhibiting the finest of creations presented by the children, reflecting their artistic expressions and innovative thoughts.
The exhibition was inaugurated by the chief guest, Santi Das, IPS officer, along with the principal of the school, MP Rozario.
The event began with the felicitation ceremony, marking the beginning of the celebrations. Guests enthusiastically visited each and every stall put up under different themes and were seen taking interest in learning about the charts, models, art and craft work that was exhibited at the venue.
From history to chemistry, from fairy tales to environmental reality, photography to robotics, Acrayon 2024 showcased the versatility of the students.
It connected the past to the present as the social studies stall showcased the transition of time through the ancient, medieval and modern period. Exhibits from geography explained the phenomenon of solar and lunar eclipse and how solar energy can replace the non-renewable energies.
In the science section, children showcased parts of the human body and their functions via models and charts. One model that deserves special mention was the working of aquaponics, a food production system that couples aquaculture with hydroponics (cultivating plants in water) whereby the nutrient-rich aquaculture water is fed to hydroponically grown plants.
The art and craft work presented by the students of the junior section and the exhibits presented at the language section connected the attendees to the essence of life.
