Michigan Bubble Fun teaches science with bubbles

CLIO, Mich. – Excitement was bubbling up this weekend at Mid-Michigan Libraries.

Miss Lena from Michigan Bubble Fun hosted interactive science shows at the Clio Area Library and the Davison Area Library.

Her program offers an educational, sensory friendly program that kids love.

Miss Lena, or Angelina Bertoni is a preschool teacher from Grand Rapids, does these programs in her spare time to help children love science.

She says the inspiration behind her bubbly show was a wheelchair-bound student in one of her classes.

“I wanted to have a safe, sensory bubble activity that she could do on the sidewalk. And from that, we started learning bubble tricks together, and I started learning how to manipulate bubbles,” said Lena.

Being able to interact with the kids and inspire them to learn is her greatest joy in hosting shows.

“I love interacting with the kids and helping them see the magic and a little bit of science. As a kid, I grew up with dyslexia, and it was really hard learning math and having that ability in this world, to be able to have something that encourages you to want to do math or encourage you to want to learn science. All it takes one magical moment, hopefully that bubble wont pop too soon,” said Lena.

If you missed the shows this weekend, Miss Lena will be back in Mid-Michigan this summer.

Until then, you can find her online here.
