Ministry of Social Affairs, UN Humanitarian Coordinator discuss plans to confront natural disasters

Minister of Social Affairs, Wafaa Al-Kilani, has discussed with the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Humanitarian Affairs Coordinator in Libya, Aeneas Chuma, strengthening cooperation in priority humanitarian files. 

Both sides reviewed developing future plans to confront the repercussions of potential natural disasters, and ways to support the affected displaced people.

They also discussed the implementation of the social protection strategy, in addition to the establishment of the Humanitarian and Community Contact Center, to improve access to humanitarian services, according to the ministry’s statement on its Facebook page on Tuesday.

Al-Kilani stressed the importance of continued cooperation with the UN, to ensure the provision of effective assistance to displaced and needy families, with a focus on strengthening coordination in implementing social protection plans and supporting affected groups.
