Akshay Kumar’s latest film ‘Sky Force’ faces ban in Middle East: Report – Entertainment News

Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya starrer ‘Sky Force’ has opened to decent reviews, with critics and audiences alike praising Akshay’s powerful performance. However, amidst its worldwide release, the movie faces a setback as it has reportedly been banned in several Middle Eastern territories, including UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Oman.

According to Bollywood Hungama, the ban might be linked to the film’s exploration of India-Pakistan tensions. “Films touching on such topics have faced bans in the Middle East before, which could be the probable reason here,” the Bollywood Hungama report quoted a source as saying. However, the report further quoted an insider dismissing the notion of the film being jingoistic or indulging in Pakistan bashing and adding, “The ban in the Middle Eastern belt comes as a huge surprise.”

This isn’t the first time a Bollywood movie has been restricted in the Middle East. Last year, Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone’s project faced a similar fate. The Middle East is known to significantly boost worldwide box office collections and the ban raises questions about its potential impact on Sky Force’s financial performance.

Despite the ban, Sky Force is expected to perform well domestically. With Akshay Kumar’s recent films underperforming, his fans have high hopes for a comeback. If the movie achieves a double-digit opening day collection, it could set the tone for a strong weekend.
