Texas Science & Natural History Museum to host Texas Wildlife Day on Feb. 1

Austin, TX — Texas Science & Natural History Museum will feature the diversity of Texas wildlife, both past and present, at Texas Wildlife Day on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. With hands-on educational activities, live animal encounters and creative crafts throughout the museum, visitors of all ages can:

Compare horns and antlers and take a microscopic look at feathers and fur with the Museum’s education team. Meet live animals including raptors, turtles and snakes with WILDCenter.

Explore the world of bugs with the Lost Pines Master Naturalists—examine different insects, learn to draw them and get a temporary bug tattoo. Learn how to identify different animal tracks with the Balcones Canyonlands Master Naturalists. Create bat hand puppets with the Good Water Master Naturalists. Discover nature in Texas state symbols with the Capital Area Master Naturalists. Explore historical to present-day Texas wildlife in the museum’s exhibits.
