India will mark its 76th Republic Day on January 26to commemorate the adoption of its Constitution in 1950. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will be the chief guest for the 2025 Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi. The highlight of the Republic Day celebrations is, without a doubt, the spectacular Republic Day Parade in the Capital. It is something most Indians across the country look forward to.

The event starts with Prime Minister Narendra Modi performing a wreath-laying ceremony at the National War Memorial, followed by President Droupadi Murmu hoisting the Indian flagat Kartavya Path, marking the start of the Republic Day parade.

The parade is a breathtaking display of India’s military prowess, cultural diversity and patriotic spirit. In this parade, various states and government departments take out attractive tableaux that capture the essence of India’s culture and diversity.

The tableaux represent different states and union territories, dance troupes of schoolchildren, marching contingents and bands. These displays march proudly along the Kartavya Path, and the chosen theme for tableaux for 2025 is ‘Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas.’ The theme aims to reflect India’s journey of progress while honouring its deep-rooted cultural legacy.

Republic Day Parade: Online Booking

For online booking, visit the official website www.aamantran.mod.gov.in or download the Amantran mobile app. The online booking window opened on January 2. Ticket prices vary based on seating arrangements. For reserved seats, the ticket cost is Rs 100, and Rs 20 is for unreserved seats.

Republic Day Parade: Offline Booking

Tickets for the parade can also be purchased till January 11 from five booths/counters by showing an original photo ID proof (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Driving License, PAN Card, Passport and ID Card issued by Central/State Govt., etc.). Check the list of locations below:

• Sena Bhawan (Gate No. 2)
• Shastri Bhawan (Near Gate No. 3)
• Jantar Mantar (Near Main Gate)
• Pragati Maidan (Gate No. 1)
• Rajiv Chowk Metro Station (Gates 7 & 8)

These counters will remain operational daily from 10 AM to 1 PM and 2 PM to 4:30 PM.

Republic Day Parade: Watch On TV

Those who will not be able to see the procession from the stands can view the parade on TV or stream it online.

The celebrations begin at 10 am, and people can tune into it live from the comfort of their homes on state-run channels such as Doordarshan and Sansad TV. Some regional and national news channels will also air the parade.

Republic Day Parade: Stream Online

Those who want to stream the parade on their smartphones can do so through several YouTube channels, like the channels of the President of India and the Ministry of Defence.

Several news outlets will also broadcast the parade live on their YouTube channels. Logging on to republicday.nic.in is another option to watch this parade.

For Republic Day 2025, 15 states and Union Territories, including Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Bihar, Chandigarh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal, will display their tableaux on Kartavya Path. In addition to that, 11 central government ministries and departments will showcase their representations.
