Cricket fans heading to the India–England T20 match at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai on Saturday, January 25, 2025, can avail of free travel on suburban trains, courtesy of the Chennai Division of Southern Railway. This initiative, in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA), aims to enhance the travel experience for spectators and ensure a hassle-free commute.

Free Travel Details

Southern Railway has announced that all valid ticket holders for the India-England T20 match are eligible for complimentary travel on second-class EMU trains across the Chennai Division. The facility will be valid for both onward and return journeys on match day, January 25, 2025. Spectators must carry their original match tickets and present them upon request to ticket-checking staff during their train journeys.

Additional Train Services

To manage the expected surge in passenger traffic, additional train services will be operated from Chepauk MRTS Station after the match. This measure is aimed at ensuring the smooth dispersal of fans returning home following the game.

Southern Railway has encouraged all attendees to plan their journeys in advance and to utilize the free train travel facility responsibly. This initiative not only facilitates easy access to the stadium but also contributes to reducing road congestion on match day.
