UN Secretary General congratulates Mikheil Kavelashvili on assumption of duties as President of Georgia
António Guterres, United Nations Secretary General, congratulated Mikheil Kavelashvili on his assumption of duties as President of Georgia, APA reports citing Georgian Public Broadcaster.
According to the congratulatory letter, Georgia is a valued partner of the United Nations and the UN looks forward to strengthening UN-Georgia cooperation to “achieve shared goals.”
“I wish to congratulate you upon your assumption of the office of President of Georgia. Georgia is a valued partner of the United Nations and I look forward to strengthening our cooperation to achieve our shared goals.
Together, we can advance the principles outlined in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Pact for the Future, while working to strengthen democratic institutions, promote gender equality, foster inclusion and uphold respect for human rights. I encourage renewed commitment by Georgia to these objectives with the support of the United Nations and other partners.
