Hamazkayin Armenian Music Festival
The Hamazkayin USA Eastern Regional Executive announces the inaugural Armenian Music Festival to be held on June 19-21, 2025, in Philadelphia’s St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Apostolic Church. During the three-day festival, the participants, ages 10 and up, will have the opportunity to learn from distinguished Armenian musicians, through workshops and performance opportunities.
The Armenian Music Festival promises to offer a musically rich experience for our young musicians, with the participation of Ung. Zakar Kechichian, chairman of Hamazkayin Central Executive, conductor and acclaimed duduk and shvi player; Sevak Avanesyan, cellist and organizer of the Kapan International Music Festival; Serouj Kradjian, pianist; Hrachya Avanesyan, violinist; and Ara Dinkjian, oudist. Soon after completing the registration, the registrants will receive music according to their level of musical ability. This will allow them to familiarize themselves with the pieces ahead of time. When they arrive at the festival, they will work with the workshop leaders and prepare for the final performance on Saturday afternoon.
On Friday evening, the young musicians will attend a concert featuring Zakar Kechichian, Serouj Kradjian, Sevak Avanesyan and Hrachya Avanesyan. The general public is invited to attend all concerts as well as the Saturday evening celebratory dinner/dance, at which featured performer Ara Dinkjian will be joined by Shant Massoyan and Aram Hovagimian. Ticket information for all events will be available by the end of February.
Hamazkayin USA Eastern Regional Executive Committee is excited to provide this unique opportunity for the Armenian youth in the Eastern United States and beyond. For more information, updates and registration please visit the festival website or Hamazkayin USA.
