‘Big’ child star David Moscow spotted in rare outing — 37 years after iconic Tom Hanks film premiered
A child star who played the younger version of Tom Hanks in “Big” stepped out in a rare public outing — nearly 40 years after the iconic movie hit the box office.
David Moscow, now 50 years old, was seen enjoying an early morning jog in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Brentwood on Jan. 23.
The actor sported Adidas attire during his cardio session, photos obtained by The Post show.

The fit star held his phone in one hand as he transitioned from a jog to a casual walk.
Thirty-seven years ago, Moscow played the young Josh Baskin in the two-time Oscar-nominated film, but his youthful auburn locks faded to gray as the years passed.
Now, he’s nearly two decades older than Tom Hanks was when the Penny Marshall-directed movie arrived in theaters.
In the hit movie, the young Josh Baskin went to a fortune-telling machine and wished to be made big.
The next morning the character woke up in the body of an adult – which was played by Tom Hanks.
Hanks prepared for the role by watching videotapes of Moscow performing all of his scenes in the film with the other actors.

The “Forrest Gump” star also studied Moscow’s body movements while he was playing with his friends in the park.
Hanks received an Oscar nomination for his performance.
“He kind of took all the quirky things about being a kid — those weird, awkward things — and [tuned] them up and had them live in him,” Moscow shared with People in 2024.
The television personality who was only 13 years old when the film debuted added that Hanks was “not pretentious” and would often come to work in a backpack and take the subway.
“He was a big kid. He was super playful, [and] very fun,” Moscow shared. “There was no treating me as a kid. He just treated himself as a kid.”

Moscow went on to star in more than three dozen movies and television shows including Disney’s musical “Newsies” an episode of Seinfeld and 2003’s “Legally Blonde” until his career took a turn.
After 2018, he took a step back from the scripted spotlight and focused on a project starring himself as the host.
He launched the series “From Scratch” in 2020 with his wife Karen Moscow.
The series shows him hunting and gathering food in the wilderness to make meals from scratch.
Moscow was previously engaged to “Scandal” actress Kerry Washington from 2004 to 2007 but their romance fizzled.
