EPSA enters Nordics with acquisition of procurement consultancy Inventura
European consulting group EPSA has expanded its presence into the Nordics with the acquisition of Inventura, a specialised procurement consultancy from Norway.
With over 3,500 employees in over 40 countries worldwide, EPSA’s presence stretches across multiple corners of the globe, however, in its powerhouse European market, the Nordics was still unchartered terrain for the firm.
The addition of Oslo-based company Inventura means that EPSA is entering the local market with a big bang – with its team of around 130 consultants, Inventura is one of the largest and most reputed operations and procurement consultancies in the region.
Established in 2011 as a result of a merger between Firstventura and Input, Inventura provides strategic, operational and regulatory advisory services to clients across all industries in both the private and public sectors. Key offerings include procurement strategy, spend analysis, category management, procurement transformation, and sustainable purchasing.
“EPSA is delighted to enter the Nordic market with Inventura – a strong Norwegian brand. This move marks our first step in the Nordics and strengthens our position as the European leader in operational performance and procurement consulting,” said Sherief Abdalla, a member of EPSA’s executive committee.
In sync with the acquisition, EPSA has appointed Claire Leussink-Nies as CEO of its Nordic business. She will combine the role with her current role of CEO of the Netherlands, where EPSA in recent years applied a buy-and-build strategy to form one of the leading groups in management consulting and procurement (around 800 staff).
Speaking on behalf of her fresh Nordic remit, Leussink-Nies said: “We see a great match between dynamic cultures, entrepreneurship, strategic visions, and strong customer focus between Inventura and EPSA. We are looking forward to partner up with the management team to further accelerating our joint growth ambitions in service offering and geographical focus.”
Meanwhile, for Inventura, joining forces with the France-headquartered group will enable the firm to lift its services and trajectory to the next level, said CEO Trond Slethaug. “This partnership marks a significant milestone in our journey to become the leading procurement consultant in Scandinavia. With EPSA’s support, we are well-positioned to strengthen our impact in Norway, for our customers and achieve our ambitious goals for growth.”
In related news, a few years ago, another leading Nordic procurement consulting firm (Prokura) was snapped up by Kearney, while more recently, Argon & Co bolted-on a procurement specialist in Germany.
