Hisaab Barabar star R Madhavan recalls people told him ‘you will never become a film actor’; here’s why

The actor has achieved a milestone by completing 25 years in the entertainment industry. In a recent interview, Maddy, as he is fondly called, reflected on 25 years of his acting career. The actor recalled being criticized after he did a television show called Banegi Apni Baat.

In an interview with Mid-Day, R Madhavan said he has done everything in his career that people said he couldn’t do. The actor recalled the time people mentioned he wouldn’t make it to the big screen because of his popularity on television. The actor did a TV show called Banegi Apni Baat.

“When I over-exposed myself by doing 1,800 episodes of a show, people said, ‘You’ll never become a film actor.’ I told them I didn’t want to be one. Then, I got a debut that big producers and directors can’t for their kids—a film with Mani Ratnam, AR Rahman, and PC Sreeram [cinematographer],” shared Madhavan.
The actor further mentioned that he did Hindi films when people said he was a Tamil hero. And when he was called a Hindi hero, Madhavan did Tamil movies.

Meanwhile, on the work front, R Madhavan has a couple of exciting projects lined up. The actor will be seen in De De Pyaar De 2 with Ajay Devgn. The actor also has Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandar with Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Rampal.
