V3 Ventures co-leads funding in Salad Days and India deals worth $135m
Salad Days, a healthy food brand, has secured about $3.6 million (Rs 30 crore) in its Series A funding round co-led by V3 Ventures and Client Associates Alternate Fund (CAAF).
The investment marks the company’s first institutional funding round after operating profitably as a bootstrapped venture for 10+ years, it said in a statement.
The fresh capital will be deployed for omnichannel expansion and strengthening operational capabilities. The company will also focus on new store openings, enhanced technological infrastructure, talent acquisition, and elevated marketing initiatives, the statement said. Additionally, Salad Days aims to explore new sales channels and menu innovations, it added.
“As India’s healthy food market expands rapidly, projected to reach $30 billion by 2026, we’re uniquely positioned to cater to the growing demand for healthy and wholesome meals at affordable price points. While we’ve maintained sustained growth and profitability throughout our journey, these fresh funds will enable us to further scale our impact significantly,” said Varun Madan, founder & CEO, Salad Days.
“We’re focused on strategic expansion across all dimensions — from expanding our footprint to strengthening our team and enriching our menu,” Madan added.
Founded in 2014 by Madan, Salad Days operates through a network of 25 cloud kitchens, with 12 outlets in Delhi-NCR, nine in Bangalore, and four in Mumbai. Its product offerings go beyond salads to include grain bowls, sandwiches, pita pockets, oatmeal bowls, soups, cold-pressed juices, smoothies, and desserts.
Arindam Basu and Sonal Biyani from Basic Roots Consulting were the exclusive advisors to the company for this transaction.
