ITV in talks with Abu Dhabi fund over studios merger
ITV is in early-stage talks with the Emirati-backed fund controlling the sale of the Telegraph titles over a merger of their respective studio production businesses.
Discussions between the FTSE 250 broadcaster and RedBird IMI have centred on a combination of ITV’s Studios business and All3Media, the production company behind The Traitors.
ITV examined an acquisition of All3Media in 2023 and judged the production company to be a good strategic fit with its Studios arm. It was outbid, however, by RedBird IMI, which completed a £1.15 billion acquisition of the company, which consists of more than 50 production and distribution businesses around the world.
