Mahindra Sales Jan 2025 – Exports Up 95% YoY – UVs Post 18% Growth

Mahindra Auto, a leading SUV and CV maker in India, has started the first month of this calendar year on a sound footing. Sales have risen significantly both across its utility vehicle segment and also in terms of commercial and 3Ws while exports rose exponentially by 95% on a YoY basis. The company also witnessed a marked improvement in its YTD sales across all segments even as its sub 2T LCVs have seen some negative growth.

Mahindra’s healthy SUV lineup, which includes the likes of Thar Roxx, Scorpio and XUV700, has continued to grow unabated. The company closed January 2025 with 50,659 unit sales, up 18% YoY from 43,068 units sold in Jan 2024. The company’s total vehicle sales count stood at 85,432 units in January 2025. Its YTD sales also surged 20% to 4,53,019 units, up from 3,76,832 units sold in the same period last year.
These sales figures show off the company’s strong position in the SUV market. Sales have been boosted thanks to new models which have been launched. Mahindra is now excited about its two upcoming electric models the BE 6 and XEV 9e. Mahindra had commenced test drives in a phase-wise manner starting with Phase 1 on 14th January 2025 while Phase 2 was initiated on 24th January 2025.

Mahindra has also seen YoY growth in commercial vehicle (CV) sales. Sales however declined for sub 2T LCVs which fell to 3,541 units, down by 12% from 4,039 unit sales of Jan 2024. Its performance on a YTD basis too was in the negative by 10% to 32,175 units in the F25 period from 35,935 units sold in the same period of the previous year.

LCVs in the 2T-3.5T segment have posted a YoY and TRD growth of 5% and 4% respectively to 19,209 units and 1,78,947 units. Commercial vehicles in the 3.5T + MHCV segments saw a 2% YoY growth to 1,167 units. Its YTD sales declined by 3% to 10,188 units in F25 from 10,499 units during the F24.
A leader in the sub 3.5 ton light commercial vehicle segment, Mahindra’s new Veero CNG is now set to further expand its position in this segment. Veero not only promises improved fuel efficiency but also comes with a host of driver comforts. It also gets an added pay capacity of 1.4 tons and a cargo length of 3035 mm.
Mahindra is also a leader in the 3W segment, sales of which improved by 32% YoY to 7,452 units, up from 5,649 unit sales of Jan 2024. Its YTD sales were up 8% to 71,685 units in the F25 period. This was from 66,152 units sold in the same period of the previous year.
Mahindra Exports up 95% YoY in Jan 2025
Mahindra has seen outstanding improvement in terms of exports. Total exports were up to 3,404 units in Jan 2025. This was a 95% growth from 1,746 units shipped in Jan 2024. On a YTD basis as well, the company has witnessed increased exports by 28% to 27,505 units in F25 from 21,551 units shipped in F24.

Veejay Nakra, President, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd., said “We began the new year by selling 50659 SUVs, a growth of 18% and 85432 total vehicles, a growth of 16%. Our Electric Origin SUVs, BE6 and XEV 9E garnered a lot of interest at the recently concluded Bharat Mobility Global Expo held in New Delhi. We commenced the test drive for these vehicles on the 14th of January and are excited about bringing these vehicles to our customers. Bookings for these vehicles will commence on 14th February.”
