It’s a beautiful reminder of how- “Life is today, it was not yesterday and it will not be tomorrow”.
Hrishikesh Mukherjee is one of the greatest director of all times. “Anand” is just one of the many classic films he helmed.
Rajesh Khanna, “Heartthrob Of The Hindi Film Industry”, portrayed the character of “Anand”, like no other. His nuances and the beauty of his craft, brought Anand to life, the Anand who taught us soo much in just 3 hours of a film.
Amitabh Bachhan, in the shoes of Dr. Bhaskar Banerjee, is a character we all can relate to. Tired of the cruelty of life, he finds himself in despair and feels extremely helpless until “Anand” comes into his life.
While Dr. Bhaskar was very lucky to have found “Anand” ,this film teaches us a bigger lesson- and that is to be the “Anand” of your own life.

Listed below are a few dialogues from the film that are extremely profound and heartfelt.

“Anand ko dosto ka shauk tha, lagta tha har waqt har jagah, usse kisi dost ki talash thi, yeh 10-15 ki ginti se badh kar main uski dosti saari duniya se karvana chahta tha”.

“Dawaayon se rog chut sakte hai, magar gareebi toh nahi”.

“Maanta hu ki zindagi ki takaat maut se zyada badi hai, lekin kya yeh zindagi maut se bathhar nahi?”

“Maut ek pal hai babumoshai”.

“Babumoshai zindagi badi honi chahiye, lambi nahi”.

“Maut ke daar se agar zinda rehna chod diya, toh maut kise kehte hai. Kyu,dost?”

“Jab tak zinda hu tab tak mara nahi, jab mar gaya sala main hi nahi..toh dar kis baat ka?

“Udassi khoobsurat nahi hoti hai babumoshai? Toh kya har hasi ke peeche sirf khushi rehti hai babumoshai?”

“Dekho babumoshai, har ek body ek transmitter hai aur ek receiver. Bas uski body main se ek vibration nikli aur maine pakad li, bas dosti ho gayi”.

“Zindagi aur maut upar wale ke haath hai jahanpannah, usse na aap badal sakte hai aur na main. Hum sab raangmach ki katputuliyan hai, jinki door upar wale ki ungaliyoon main bandhi hai. Kab, kaun kaise uthaega, koi nahi bata sakta”.

“Babumoshai, hamari mushkil malum hai,kya hai? hum aane wale ghum ko kheech tan ke aaj ki khushi pe le aate hai aur uss khushi main zeher ghol dete hai, Babumoshai main aaj thode marne wala hu, aur mar bhi gaya toh yahi rahunga tumhare saath”.

“Haan Anand, main jaanta hu tum mera hissa ho gaye ho, mere jinee ka hissa”.

” Maut, tu ek Kavita hai…Jism jab khatam ho aur rooh ko jab saas aaye, mujhse ek kavita ka wada hai milegi mujhko”.

“Dukh apne liye rakh,Anand sab ke liye”.

“Anand mara nahi, Anand marte nahi”.

This film has taught us one of the greatest lessons of life so subtly and beautifully.
