Boeing Korea names supply chain expert as new CEO

Boeing Korea’s new president Will Shaffer (Boeing Korea)

Boeing Korea announced Monday the appointment of Will Shaffer as its new president.

Based in Seoul, Shaffer will oversee the company’s strategies and operations in the Korean market. In addition to this role, he will serve as vice president of globalization and market development, leading Boeing’s strategy outside the US. His focus will include developing country-specific strategies, assessing global geopolitical risks and identifying new growth opportunities.

“Will brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of leadership within Boeing, making him well-suited to guide our operations in Korea and lead the global strategy team during this crucial time,” said Dr. Brendan Nelson AO, president of Boeing Global.

Shaffer previously led Boeing Japan for over five years before taking on the role of vice president of growth planning at Boeing Global Services. With more than a decade at Boeing, he has held several leadership positions, including director of supply chain for product development and director of supplier management for raw materials and standards.

Before joining Boeing, he served as a Lieutenant Commander and P-3 pilot in the US Navy.

“I’m honored to join Boeing Korea. It has a growing customer base, a strong network of suppliers and partners, and a world-class research and development facility,” said Shaffer. “I believe even greater opportunities lie ahead.”
