Timberland names ex-Calvin Klein designer as Global Creative Director
It seems that even Timberland, known for its iconic suede boots, is joining in on the influx of new Creative Director appointments. The US-based footwear brand has today announced the appointment of Drew Villani to the role of Global Creative Director, Marketing.
Founded by Nathan Swartz in 1928, Timberland is an American outdoor retailer with a focus on footwear. In recent years, the brand has revamped its image, by teaming up with Naomi Campbell as well as A-Cold-Wall*’s Samuel Ross, while staying true to its workwear heritage.
Drew Villani is now responsible for bringing Timberland’s creative vision to life across all aspects of brand marketing, including art direction, photography, store design, styling and video production.
The Australian designer, who is based in New York, brings extensive experience and creativity to this role. Prior to his new role, Villani worked with several luxury fashion brands such as Phillip Lim and New Guards Group. He was most recently Senior Director, Global Creative at Calvin Klein for over three years.
Villani and his wife Tania de Bono founded creative direction studio HORSE in 2019, where he currently still serves as Creative Director. Over the years, the studio has worked with house hold names including Estee Lauder, Calvin Klein, Nike and L’oreal Paris to name a few.
