Millionaire Bryan Johnson leaves India podcast mid-recording due to air pollution
Dubai: American entrepreneur Bryan Johnson, known for his anti-ageing endeavours, recently cut short his appearance on Nikhil Kamath’s podcast in India, citing adverse reactions to air pollution.
Johnson reported experiencing skin rashes, along with burning sensations in his eyes and throat, which he attributed to the compromised air quality.
Johnson noted that the recording environment exacerbated his discomfort. Despite using a personal air purifier, the studio’s ventilation system introduced external air, rendering his purifier ineffective. He observed that the indoor Air Quality Index (AQI) reached 130, with PM2.5 levels at 75 µg/m³—equivalent to smoking approximately 3.4 cigarettes over a 24-hour period.
Reflecting on his stay in India, Johnson expressed concern over the normalisation of air pollution. He observed residents engaging in outdoor activities without protective measures, despite well-documented health risks. Johnson emphasised that improving air quality could significantly enhance public health, potentially more so than curing all cancers.
Bryan Johnson is an American entrepreneur and investor best known for his anti-ageing research and longevity-focused lifestyle.
Johnson is currently leading Project Blueprint, a health and longevity experiment where he follows a meticulously controlled routine involving diet, sleep, exercise, and medical interventions to reverse biological ageing. His research explores cellular rejuvenation, organ function optimisation, and biomarker tracking to extend human lifespan and improve overall health.
