Highland League football fixtures affected by frosty weather while Moray Rugby Club’s first home match in over three months is moved to Kinloss

The frosty weather has taken its toll on the weekend sporting calendar.

The Moray derby in the Highland League between Keith and Rothes has been postponed, with Kynoch Park in a frozen state.

Huntly’s trip to Inverness to face Clach is also off, with Grant Street Park failing a 9am inspection.

There was one Highland League match played on Friday night, with Deveronvale on the wrong end of hosts Inverurie Locos’ biggest win of the season. Locos won 6-1 with six different scorers on target.

Milosz Ochmanski gave the home team the lead before Jack Mitchell quickly levelled for Vale.

Inverurie went in at the break 3-1 up thanks to goals by Calum Dingwall and Paul Coutts (pen), and added to their advantage in the second half through Callum Duncan, Mark Souter and former Vale man Ryan Park.

Meanwhile, Moray Rugby Club’s first home match in over three months will take place at a different venue.

The Elgin side were due to host Hamilton Bulls at Morriston but the frost made their pitches unplayable, so the game has been moved to Kinloss.

The first team play Hamilton at 2pm and Moray’s under-18s play Mackie, also at Kinloss with the kick off scheduled for just before 1pm.
