Air India Express to launch Kolkata-Hindon flight on March 1 – Check schedule, timings and more – Airlines/Aviation News

Air India Express is set to begin operations between Kolkata and Hindon airport in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, starting March 1, according to an airline spokesperson. Air India Express will be the first airline to operate jet-engine flights out of Hindon airport, with Kolkata being the first destination to be connected by this larger aircraft. Currently, smaller airlines operate on shorter routes from Hindon.

The airline also plans to introduce six daily flights from Bengaluru, Goa and Kolkata to Hindon, providing easier access to key areas in the NCR. This expansion is expected to benefit travelers from western Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, including cities such as Bareilly, Bijnor, Dehradun, and Haridwar.

Air India Express Kolkata-Hindon flight schedule

The Kolkata to Hindon flight will operate daily, while the return flights from Hindon to Kolkata will run six days a week, excluding Saturdays. The Kolkata departure will be at 7:10 am, reaching Hindon by 9:30 am, while the return flight will leave Hindon at 5:20 pm and arrive in Kolkata at 7:40 pm.

Air India Express route expansion plans

With this expansion, Air India Express will serve two airports in the National Capital Region (NCR)—Indira Gandhi International Airport (Delhi) and Hindon Airport (Ghaziabad).

In addition, sources have indicated that the airline plans to introduce flights from Kolkata to Kathmandu and Dhaka during the summer schedule this year.

Hindon offers an accessible alternative for passengers from Central and Eastern Delhi, Noida, and nearby areas like Akshardham, Anand Vihar, Parliament Street, Connaught Place, Karol Bagh, and Vaishali.

Air traffic control at Hindon is managed by the Indian Air Force, with the Civil Enclave Hindon developed and operated by the Airports Authority of India (AAI), serving both scheduled and non-scheduled flight movements.
