Rekha Gupta is the MLA from Shalimar Bagh and currently serves as the General Secretary of Delhi BJP and National Vice President of BJP’s Mahila Morcha.

The BJP has officially announced Rekha Gupta as the new Chief Minister of Delhi. Her name was finalized after much speculation and discussion about potential candidates. Rekha Gupta is the MLA from Shalimar Bagh and currently serves as the General Secretary of Delhi BJP and National Vice President of BJP’s Mahila Morcha. Gupta (50) was chosen as Leader of the House in the Delhi Assembly at the BJP legislature party meeting late on Wednesday, senior BJP leader Ravishankar Prasad announced. Her political journey began in 1995-96 when she contested and won the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) election, becoming its president.

Born in 1974 in Nandgarh village, Jind district, Haryana, the 50-year-old leader has an LLB degree.
