After an intense stretch of games in the 4 Nations Face-Off tournament, Canada and the United States delivered in the final on what was expected to be the best hockey game of the last decade.

The hatred from last Saturday’s game carried over, and the teams trading goals and big hits gave fans a reminder just how good best-on-best hockey can be.

McDavid scored the overtime winner for Canada in what may be viewed as the passing of the torch from Sidney Crosby to the Oilers captain, as he figures to lead Canada for the foreseeable future — including at next year’s Olympics in Italy.
