The majority of the building materials were obtained locally, and the campus is designed to be accessible.
Ananta symbolizes Google’s AI-first strategy and India’s role in advancing AI innovation, according to Preeti Lobana, vice president and country manager at Google India.
She said, “Ananta will be known not just for the innovations that emerge from within its walls—powered by India but for the world—but also for its lasting impact. Six years ago, we made a pivotal shift, embracing an AI-first approach. We recognised India’s potential not only as a deep talent pool but also as a place where AI can transform lives at scale. This new campus marks a milestone in the ongoing seismic shift in technology. It is a testament to our ambition to innovate and drive the next transformative leap in AI.”
The campus hopes to mark a turning point in technological transformation while also advancing AI for India and the rest of the world.
Ananta uses smart photochromic glass to cut down on power consumption, on-site rainwater harvesting, and water waste recycling to reduce its environmental impact.
Google To Resolve Issues For Indian Users
Google DeepMind vice president of engineering Anand Rangarajan stressed that resolving issues for Indian users frequently results in solutions for the rest of the world.
He stated, “India provides a remarkable environment for addressing complex challenges, and solving problems for Indian users often translates to solutions for global users. Ananta, now one of Google’s largest offices worldwide, stands as proof of this belief in innovation and our commitment to building India’s digital future. It represents a milestone for all those contributing to shaping this future.”
Google wants to use Ananta to create top-notch products and address challenging issues that affect users.
In India, Google employs more than 10,000 people and maintains offices in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Gurugram.
Employees must work in the office three days a week as part of the company’s hybrid work model.
