India is undergoing its most significant workforce transformation, driven by the rise of Agentic AI.

According to the 2025 ServiceNow AI Skills Research, Agentic AI will reshape over 10.35 million jobs in India by 2030.

India Undergoing Workforce Transformation, Thanks To AI

This change will impact roles from payroll clerks to platform architects, transforming them from rule-based tasks to strategy- and creativity-driven work.

With the world’s largest youth population, India’s shift toward AI-driven jobs presents an opportunity rather than a disruption.

“India’s AI journey is at a defining moment,” says Sumeet Mathur, SVP & MD of ServiceNow India. He adds, “This is not just about automation, it’s about reimagining work itself.”

Agentic AI enhances roles by collaborating with humans instead of replacing them.

Roles like implementation consultants and system administrators are benefiting from AI’s support in decision-making.

Industries expected to see the biggest impact include:

  • Manufacturing: 8 million jobs affected
  • Retail: 7.6 million jobs
  • Education: 2.5 million jobs

These changes are driven by AI’s ability to improve efficiency and reshape workflows.

Three million new tech jobs are expected in India in the next five years.

Jobs like software developers, data engineers, and platform owners are becoming central to the AI-powered economy.

The report states that 25% of Indian companies are already undergoing AI-driven transformation, surpassing nations like Singapore and Australia.

13.5% of tech budgets in India are now dedicated to AI, showing it’s a present-day execution priority, not just a pilot experiment.

However, challenges remain—data security is still a major concern.

Additionally, 26% of companies are unsure about the skills they’ll need in an AI-integrated future.

Report Advises Companies To Go Beyond Reviewing AI Outputs

The report advises companies to go beyond just reviewing AI outputs, and start questioning how AI decisions are made—focusing on transparency, ethics, and collaboration.

The focus is now on reskilling and redefining roles, with skills like:

  • Prototyping
  • ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning)
  • Digital strategy
  • Data pipeline management
  • Traditional roles are being reinvented:
  • Help desk agents are evolving into digital transformation leaders
  • Change managers are becoming AI strategists

India’s Agentic AI revolution is not just about adopting technology—it is also about building trust, nurturing talent, and enabling transformation.

The article concludes that this moment could serve not only as a turning point for India but as a model for the rest of the world.
