372 Athletes Will Receive Ranking Points for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games

Ulaanbaatar, June 13, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The International Judo Federation (IJF) Ordinary Congress 2025
is taking place in Budapest, Hungary.

 

During the Congress,
the federation held elections for its leadership, re-electing Marius Vizer for
a sixth term. Consequently, he will continue to lead the International Judo
Federation for another four years. The Congress also selected and approved the
Executive Committee for the 2025-2029 term. The committee consists of two
representatives each from Japan, the French Republic, and the Republic of Uzbekistan,
and one representative each from the Republic of Malta, the Czech Republic, the
Kingdom of Spain, the Republic of Zambia, Hungary, Romania, the People’s Democratic
Republic of Algeria, and the Republic of Slovenia.

 

The Congress
introduced the host countries for the World Judo Championships for 2026, 2027,
and 2028. Negotiations are currently underway to hold the 2028 World
Championships in Bahrain, coinciding with the Los Angeles Olympic year.
Additionally, the meeting presented the rules for calculating world and Olympic
ranking points for athletes. The International Judo Federation currently ranks
10,291 athletes from 177 countries, with 372 athletes eligible to earn ranking
points for the Los Angeles Olympics. Moreover, the Referees’ Committee, Finance
Department, and continental unions presented reports covering the past two
years.

 

Secretary General of
the Mongolian Judo Association B. Batgerel and Manager of the Mongolian National Team G.
Bolor represented Mongolia at the Congress.
